Midweek Check-in

Good morning, church family!
It’s time for another midweek check-in, and I need your help.
This Sunday we are beginning a new series all about seeking God’s will and mission for our lives and for Woodland Lakes Community Church. Much prayer and planning has gone into this series, and I can’t wait to fully launch this Sunday.
But we must start with prayer. And that’s where I need your help.
This Friday and Saturday (noon to noon) I’m calling on the church to engage in 24 hours of prayer in our sanctuary. Many of you have already signed up for one-hour timeslots to come to the church and sit, stand or kneel in our sanctuary and pray for God’s direction and will.
But we have seven slots that remain open.

Would you be willing to come to the church during one of these times and spend an hour in prayer?
Friday 8-9 p.m.
Friday 11 p.m. to midnight
Saturday 1-2 a.m.
Saturday 4-5 a.m.
Saturday 6-7 a.m.
Saturday 7-8 a.m.
Saturday 11 a.m. to noon
We will have volunteers at the church at all times to make sure the building remains secure and those praying will be free from distraction and interruption. There will also be prayer prompts at the altar to guide you through a full hour of intentional, dedicated prayer. We just need prayer warriors to fill these time slots and ensure the prayers continue for the full 24 hours!
To sign up for one of these available time slots, please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you!
“Tell me about your faithful love come morning time,
because I trust you.
Show me the way I should go,
because I offer my life up to you.
Deliver me from my enemies, Lord!
I seek protection from you.
Teach me to do what pleases you,
because you are my God.
Guide me by your good spirit
into good land.”
-Psalm 143:8-10
Your pastor,
Billy Byler
VISION GATHERINGS: Throughout the month of April I’d like everyone in our church to attend a Vision Gathering, which will take place at various homes around Wichita. Some are on weeknights, some on our weekend afternoons, but all will provide an opportunity to hear details about The NEXT Initiative, our goals and vision for the church. You’ll also receive some delicious snacks and drinks and have the chance to ask questions and share comments. Spots are filling up quickly, so sign up online or at The NEXT Initiative booth in the church lobby this Sunday morning.
CONTACT INFO: We have recently sent important church announcements through letters in the mail and through emails. If you are not receiving these, please update your contact info with us so we know how best to communicate to you.
TEXT MESSAGING: We have a new way to communicate important, time-sensitive information from the church: text messaging! If you don’t want to receive text messages from the church, do nothing. But if you’d like to be added to our texting list, you can opt-in here. We’ll use this primarily for things like weather-related announcements and special, all-church events.
PRAYER: I’d like to know how I can best pray for you. We have a way to submit prayer requests online anytime day or night, which will help me join you in prayer.
JUST FOR FUN: Hey, you read Pastor Billy's midweek check-in all the way to the end! As a reward, check out these crazy stories I came across recently:
Postcards made in 1899 tried to predict what life would look like in 2000, giving us these amazing ideas and images, including: whale-powered vehicles, rolling houses, flying fire fighters and self-powered roller skates.
The dramatic rescue of a downed U.S. airman behind enemy lines included a fascinating new technology called Ghost Murmur that uses long-range quantum magnetometry sensitive enough to track a human heartbeat in remote locations.
Cambodia celebrated a landmine-detecting rat over the weekend by unveiling his own statue, which came after a career of clearing mines across more than 1 million square feet of land.
