MIDWEEK CHECK-IN

It’s Wednesday which can only mean one thing, it’s time for your Midweek Check-In!

This week, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday pastors and church leaders from all over the state will be meeting in Hutchinson for our 115th District Assembly. Not only will they be meeting to discuss the business of the Kansas District of the Nazarene Church but will be receiving training and encouragement for the year to come. We are living in a spiritually hostile time here in the US. The enemy is constantly attacking and seeking to destroy the local church and it’s people. It is more important than ever that we support, love on and pray for our pastors and church leaders. As we get closer to the arrival of Pastor Billy and C.J., let’s take a look at another way Pastor Kendall showed us that we can do just that.

Let our pastors be human. They are not going to be perfect. (Try to keep your shock and amazement to a minimum.) Pastors are humans too, which means they are going to be imperfect human beings just like you and me.  But in 2 Corinthians 12:9 Paul reminds us that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. So, when those moments arise where our pastors don’t respond or react in the most perfect way or in the way we think they should, trust their heart and their intentions.  Remember, God has placed our pastors where they are not because they are perfect but because they have been called by Him as the perfect person for that time.

I hope to see you at District Assembly Thursday evening at 7pm when Pastor Kendall Franklin, our new district superintendent, gives his first address to the district and Friday evening at 7pm for the ordination service!

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP:

The next Cancer Support gathering will be on Saturday, July 27th at 10am in the Hospitality Room.

GATEWAY TEAM LUNCH:

If you are a member of our Greeter, Usher, or Security teams, you are a part of the GATEWAY Team! We will be having a lunch meeting after worship this Sunday, July 28th in the café area. Please make sure to communicate to either your team leader or Pastor Nate that you plan to attend so we can make sure to have enough food. It is VITAL that we have as many members there as possible. Can’t wait to see you there!

SAVE THE DATE:

Pastor Billy and C.J. Byler’s first Sunday with us will be on August 18th. You will NOT want to miss this Sunday!

BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES:

This is the LAST week we will be collecting school supplies. Make sure you bring your supplies to church with you on Sunday morning. We will be assembling the Backpacks next Sunday, August 4th, after our worship gathering, and a meal will be provided. We would love for you to be involved … whether it is bringing school supplies, assembling the backpacks, or delivering the backpacks to the schools. Talk to Sherilyn Elder for more details!
